Ahhhh Day 2/workout 2 of the Wii Active 30 Day Challenge. I put this off until about 10pm! I really didn't want to do it but I knew it was 30 minutes of my day and I would thank myself for it later. Well I am all done and I am really glad that I did it. One of the biggest reasons why I was dreading it was my legs and butt muscles were so sore form yesterday! It hurt to sit on the toilet for crying out loud! My muscles were just uptight. I wasn't able to walk with Sarah today because my mom was getting discharged from the hospital and it took longer than anticipated. She thought by 10am, then by noon but really didn't get to leave until 3pm. Then the trip to the pharmacy to get her meds and then get her settled at home. It was a busy day. Tomorrow I will have to push harder on our walk to make up for the missed days :)
Anywho, here is my photo of workout 2 on the Wii...
Tomorrow is a rest day for me on this challenge and I am thankful for that :) Tomorrow is weigh in day for me and I can tell that it won't be a good one :( Well I better get off to bed...

Day 1 of Wii Active 30 Day Challenge
So today I decided to add a little extra workout to my schedule. Katie from Runs for Cookies just finished her 30 Day challenge and so she inspired me to do the same. My husband is also doing it!! So here is my Day 1 photo!
The inline skating for me was really hard but I made it!!
Day 3 on my juicing was pretty hard but I did make it all the way through the day! Day 4 was the worst!! By 5:30pm I was about in tears. I was so hungry and craving everything!!! So I made a really huge salad. I put romaine, cucumber, broccoli, tuna and a 1/4 cup of light ranch. I maybe shouldn't have made it that big but I felt like I was starving. I felt amazing after that. The next day was Friday. I started juicing twice a day and eating a salad. so far that has been working. In total I have lost 13lbs.
On a completely different topic....My husband and I are moving!! We are moving to an apartment but its bigger, has a DISHWASHER and is all on one level. We currently live in a small 2 bedroom house with little storage and little places to put things like bookshelves. I am so excited that we got the apartment!! Plus we will be in the same complex as my mom. She has quite a lot of medical issues so it will be nice to be closer. We will also be closer to the kids' school, Larry's work and the grocery store we use. God has blessed us with the new place and I am so grateful!

Hello, My name is Plantar Fasciitis... I mean Sarah
This being my first post, I thought I would say hello. I am Sarah. I am a 32 year old mom of three (ages 4, 3, and 3) who struggles with finding time to breathe, PCOS, and newly diagnosed Plantar Fasciitis. I have been walking with Andrea as many times a week as possible. We haven't always made it out everyday, but we try. I have also been trying to be very intentional about how many calories I am eating on a daily basis and eating a lot more veggies and lean meats. My starting weight is 263 and my goal is 200 for right now. It is going to be a long haul at a healthy 2.5 pounds a week which is how my doctor wants it. I on the other hand would love to take a vacuum cleaner and suck it all out right now.
Since my Plantar Fasciitis has been diagnosed in the last two days, I am still learning and will be sharing as much as possible about that. Also if you have any questions or want to commiserate about that or PCOS, leave me a comment or you can e-mail me as well.
My Plantar Fasciitis is a small tear in the ligament that runs from my heel to my toes along the bottom of my foot. I understand that for other people they do not have to have a tear to have the same pain and diagnosis. I also have a small bone spur that we are ignoring for now according to my doctor. I have ben told that I need to wear shoes with good cushion and arch support all the time when I am standing or walking even when I am in the house which I am definitely not used to. Also, I have to lay off the long walks for a while and replace them with stretches 3 times a day, ice and rest (hahaha). The laughing is for the rest part not the stretching because as I have found out, the stretching actually makes my foot feel better. Oh, and yea for the knowledgable staff and bargain basement at Da*ve's Bo*ot Sh*op and birthday money, I now have one pair of shoes that I can wear. I am going to get back to walking as soon as possible.
Sorry to ramble. I will let you know how it goes.

Juicing Day 2
Wish I could say that today is good but it is far from it! I feel weak, nauseated, achy, irritable, I have a headache and severe dry mouth. I want every piece of food in my house and my kids are doing everything possible to set me off. I feel so dehydrated yet I have drank 64oz. of water so far.
On a bright note....I weighed myself this morning just to see what one day of juicing did. I lost ..... 3lbs.!!!!!
Tonight's post won't be that long because I really want to go to bed but I just wanted to let people know who are thinking of starting a juice fast to be prepared for the side effects. I have read that they are short term (3-5 days) but the side effects are caused from your body fighting you to hang on to the toxins that the juice is pushing out. You can find out information on juicing at Join the Reboot. Sign up for a free account, get involved in the forums and Juice On!!
Weight 8/13/2012 8:30am: 265.8
Weight 8/14/2012 8:30am: 262.8
Weight Loss to date: 7.2 lbs.

Juicing Day 1
So this morning I get up, head to the fridge to cut up my fruits and veggies for my morning juice. I wash, peel and cut. Then I position my juicer, turn it on and....... the power goes out!! Grrrr!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I could not believe it. I swear the devil was trying to discourage me. I had my walk at 10am and by now it was about 9am. So we drive down to the local natural foods market and buy an already made juice. I don't like to do that but I really had no choice. I WAS NOT going to give in and just eat a normal breakfast.
As soon as my walk was over I had to grab my stuff for our summer PTO planning meeting. That was from 12pm-3pm. So again I had to go to the store and grab an already made juice. The juice I like to buy is the Naked Green Machine.
So then after my meeting (which only lasted until 2pm) I had to run to the store and get a few more produce items to juice. The finally by 3:30pm I finally made a juice and it was really good. This is so far the first one that I have made that was good! Hallelujah!! Then I showered and now I am sitting here typing this and waiting for my next appointment to get here.
After my shower though I just wanted to weigh my self for giggles. Normally I will gain about 1-2 pounds throughout the day. Well today I am down .6 lbs. from this morning!!! I am also down in body fat but I haven't measured that in a while.
As far as how I feel...I feel good. I am hungry and really want to eat but good. I have what feels like dry mouth though. Not sure if that is normal. I am drinking about 50-60 oz. of juice a day plus 64+oz. of water. Here is the recipe for the juice I made today:

- 2 Apples (peeled & washed)

- 1 Handful of Spinach (washed)
- 1 Orange
- 1/2 Cucumber (peeled & washed)
- 1 Kale Leaf (washed)
- 1 Red Chard (washed)
It's pretty good. I didn't use a lot of kale and chard because they are quite bitter. So tomorrow I will post what my weight is to see the difference.

Juice Fast.....
Tomorrow starts my first day of a 10 day juice fast. I have wanted to try it for a while now but I just could not find a good recipe. Well I got 1 good one and 1 I will try tomorrow. I am excited and nervous about doing it.
I am watching that documentary "Fat, Sick and Nearly Dead" and there is a recipe on there for Mean Green Juice.
- 1 bunch kale
- 4 stalks celery
- 1 cucumber
- 2 granny smith apples
- 1/2 a lemon
- ginger root
Now I do not like kale (its quite bitter) so I think I will try it with spinach instead. Also, from a friend I got this recipe.
- Apples
- Oranges
- Carrots
- Spinach
I am not quite sure the amounts on this one so I will update this tomorrow with what I come up with.
Also tomorrow morning I will be doing a fasting blood test to see where I was before the fast. I am excited to see where I will be in 10 days. I hope to go longer but I will revisit that goal at the end of 10 days.

15k followed by a 5k!
Andrea here...
Yesterday was a proud day for me, my husband and my 3 kids. We decided that were going to go for a walk. Well our walk turned into more than that.
I mapped our walk and we did a walk/run 9.56 miles (just over a 15k) in 3 hours and 40 minutes!!! My kids had their scooters and they did fantastic! Little stopping (only twice to use the bathroom and get a drink) and very little complaining. I am so proud of them!!
I am in training to do a half marathon next summer, I don't think we did too bad considering my husband and I had to carry my 45 lbs son for a little while at the end. I need to get the 13.1 miles in under 4 hours! Imagine what our time would have been if we didn't stop or get slowed down by kids!!
I also weighed myself and I am 2 lbs down!! Could be water weight, but it still feels good to see it go down. So today Sarah and I decided to to extend our usual walk. So we did....we went 3.22 miles in 70 minutes. Not too bad for us and I was in a lot of pain from my walk/run last night.

Day 1.....
Hey everyone, Andrea here. Day 1 for me so far has been great! I feel great and I am motivated. However, what am I going to do when that motivation goes away?? That is when the determination HAS to kick in! Today Sarah and I walked a little further than we normally do. That felt good! As soon as this blog is done I have laundry, dishes and cleaning to do.....YUCK! Sorry so small but I really need to get to work. I just wanted to let you all know how Day 1 is going so far!!
